INTRODUCTION
Ajaduo 25mg/5mg Tablet is a combination medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. This medicine is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps in proper utilisation of insulin, thereby lowering the blood sugar level.
Ajaduo 25mg/5mg Tablet can be taken with or without food at any time of day but you should try to take it at the same time every day. The dose will be decided by your doctor. Don’t stop taking it without asking your doctor. If you do, your blood sugar levels may increase and put you at risk of serious complications like kidney damage and blindness. This medicine is only part of a treatment program that should include a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction as advised by your doctor.
The most common side effects of this medicine include urinary tract infection, nasal congestion, sore throat, and upper respiratory tract infection. Drinking plenty of fluids while using it will help prevent dehydration. Some people may develop fungal infections in the genital area. Maintaining good hygiene can help prevent this.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems or a urinary tract infection or if you are on water pills (diuretics). Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Avoid excessive alcohol intake while taking it as this may increase the risk of developing some side effects. HOW TO COPE WITH SIDE EFFECTS?
The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.
-
Coping with Urinary tract infectionYour doctor may prescribe antibiotics to treat a urinary tract infection. Most will clear up within a few days. Try some natural remedies like taking cranberry juice and probiotics for help. To ease the pain, try taking painkiller medicine. You can also try placing a hot water bottle or heat pad on your tummy or between your thighs. Rest and drink plenty of fluids (not alcohol or caffeine) to help flush the bacteria out of your body. Urinating frequently helps get rid of the bacteria as well.
-
Coping with Nasal congestion (stuffy nose)Try saline spray or nose drops. Taking steam inhalation or placing a warm wet towel on your face can also help. Use a humidifier if the air in your house is too dry. Using an extra pillow at night to lift up your head can also improve your breathing. If your condition does not improve, you should talk to your doctor. The doctor may be able to prescribe you certain over-the-counter medicines that can help improve your condition.
-
Coping with Sore throatTry gargling with warm salt water as it can help soothe a scratchy throat and relieve the discomfort. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Consider lozenges or hard candy. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they can dry out your throat and aggravate the symptoms. Also, avoid smoking or smoky places. Warm tea that is sweetened with honey can also soothe your irritated throat. Get plenty of rest and consider using a humidifier if the air in your home is dry. If it does not get better or get worse, talk to your doctor for advice
