INTRODUCTION
Axcer 90mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called antiplatelets or blood thinners. It reduces the formation of harmful blood clots in blood vessels. This helps to prevent a heart attack or stroke in people with heart disease.
Axcer 90mg Tablet is also used to treat people with a recent heart attack or severe heart-related chest pain (unstable angina), who have undergone stenting of the heart. It helps to prevent serious heart-related problems like having another heart attack, stroke, or formation of blood clots in stents in such people.
Your doctor will also prescribe aspirin, another antiplatelet medicine, along with this medicine. Axcer 90mg Tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken regularly at the same time each day. It is important to keep taking it even if you feel well. If you stop taking this medicine, it may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.
The most common side effect seen with this medicine is bleeding. If you cut or injure yourself, it may take longer than usual for the bleeding to stop. Such episodes of bleeding are usually mild and resolve on their own. Some people may develop mild breathlessness after taking this medicine, however, this usually resolves on its own with continued treatment. Let your doctor know if bleeding persists or if the breathlessness worsens or does not go away.
Axcer 90mg Tablet is not suitable for some people. Do not take it if you are bleeding from anywhere in the body such as a stomach ulcer or bleeding within the brain, or if you have severe liver problems.

HOW TO COPE WITH SIDE EFFECTS?
The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.
-
Coping with BleedingHold a gauze over the area that is bleeding and apply pressure. Holding an ice pack to bruises may make them fade more quickly. Seek emergency help if you are bleeding profusely or if the bleeding doesn’t stop within 15 minutes. If you are bleeding more easily than normal, try to be careful when doing activities that might cause an injury or a cut, as it may take longer to stop bleeding. Use a soft toothbrush and waxed dental floss to clean your teeth. See a doctor if you’re worried about any bleeding.
-
Coping with BreathlessnessControl your breaths by breathing in slowly through your nose and breathing out through your mouth. Sitting on a chair and leaning your chest slightly forward may also help. Increase the flow of air around you by opening windows or using a fan. Try to learn breathing techniques and do regular physical exercise. Wearing loose clothing around your waist and chest may also be helpful. Your breathing will usually return to normal within a few weeks of starting the medicine. Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or get worse. Shortness of breath can also be a sign of an ongoing or worsening heart problem.
