INTRODUCTION
Lobet 100mg Tablet is a medicine used for treating high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart-related chest pain (angina). It is also effective for treating high blood pressure in pregnancy. It lowers the blood pressure and thus helps in preventing future stroke and heart attack.
Lobet 100mg Tablet may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It should be taken with food. You can take it at any time of day but try to take it at the same time each day. Since it can cause serious withdrawal effects, it should not be stopped abruptly. This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to reduce your salt intake.
Common side effects of this medicine include dizziness, difficulty in urination, allergic reaction, increased liver enzymes, and ejaculation disorder. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you.

HOW TO COPE WITH SIDE EFFECTS?
The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.
-
Coping with DizzinessThis is usually short-lived and should go away within a few days. If this happens, stop what you are doing and sit or lie down until you feel better. Lying still in a dark, quiet room may help reduce the spinning feeling. Sleep with your head slightly raised on two or more pillows. Get up slowly from a lying or sitting position. Get plenty of rest and try to relax as being anxious can make it worse. Try taking this medicine at bedtime to reduce the symptoms. Drinking plenty of water and ginger tea may also help. Avoid alcohol, caffeine and smoking as it will make you feel worse. Avoid driving or using tools or machinery until you feel better.
-
Coping with Allergic reactionAvoid touching other areas of your body, especially your face. Wash the affected area with water. Put a cold compress such as an ice pack or wet washcloth on the itchy area in case of a mild reaction. Using moisturizing creams may also bring relief. Speak to your doctor if the itchiness or rash gets worse or does not go away. Get medical help right away if you see signs of severe allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, swelling of face or throat, sudden weakness with dizziness and restlessness.
-
Coping with Ejaculation disorderSpeak to your doctor as they may be able to change your medicine or offer other treatments that might help with the problem. Making healthy lifestyle changes and eating a healthy balanced diet can help. Lose weight if you are overweight. Exercise daily and try to reduce stress and anxiety. Avoid the use of alcohol, cigarettes or recreational drugs such as marijuana which can also affect sexual function. Counselling or psychotherapy can also be helpful.
-
Coping with Increased liver enzymesThere may be no symptoms, so your doctor should carry out a blood test and give you advice. Some lifestyle changes can bring down levels of liver enzymes. In general, you will need to stop drinking alcohol or limit the amount you drink, lose weight and keep active. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. Eat a healthy diet. Some particular foods like nuts, fatty fish, coffee, tea, olive oil, sprouts and bananas may be beneficial. Try to control stress as this can make your symptoms worse.
-
Coping with Difficulty in urinationRelax when you try to pee. Don’t try to force the flow of urine. If it doesn’t happen, try again later. Limit drinks that increase urination such as coffee, tea and other caffeinated beverages. Continue to drink plenty of water each day. Gentle massage and hot compression on your lower abdomen can help relax your muscles and may improve your urine flow. Doing exercises that strengthen the bladder muscles such as pelvic exercise will be of help. Distract your attention by thinking about something else. Avoid alcohol and smoking because both can aggravate the condition. Talk to your doctor urgently if you can not pee at all.
